Integrated Water Management of Transboundary Catchments.

The main goal of TRANSCAT project is to create an operational and integrated Decision Support System (DSS) aimed at improving the water management of catchments in borderland regions, in the context of the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive. The DSS is structured with modules that allow the simulation of a range of different climatic, topographic, environmental and socio-economic conditions, on the basis of studies carried out on transboundary catchments, for different Countries and situations.

GISIG, as project partner, carried out in general activities related to the dissemination and awareness creation and to the aspects of Geographical Information for river basin management. In particular,  GISIG  coordinated the publication of the TRANSCAT Compendium “Supporting decision making in transboundary catchments” to which this session of the GISIG web site is dedicated.
